Have you ever made rock candy?

Sorry for the break. We’ve been off exploring Death Valley since the middle of last week. I’ll have lots of images coming up if i can make the time to develop all of the film i shot.
I just put up 4 or 5 pictures of what happens to the trees in Yosemite valley during this frozen frost that develops at dawn and dusk. Depending on where the trees are (how much sunlight hits them etc) the type and amount of ice that develops on them varies.
Some get covered in a solid, evenly distributed crystal clear coating.
Others get a combination of frost and ice.
And the ones that sit in the shade the most develop an amazing prickly covering of frost that builds up over the course of a couple of hours into something that looks fairly menacing. I’ve never seen frost that was so well defined and if you touch it at all it melts nearly immediately.
