3 Fall Weekends
December 1st, 2021
I had accumulated a few rolls of 35mm from over the last couple of months and got a chance to develop them last night. Here are a few frames from 3 different weekend outings around San Francisco from the ocean to the bay.
First stop was along the Embarcadero, somewhere I’ve walked numerous times over the last several years. I’ve probably spent more time here than anywhere else in the city having worked just across the street from here for many years.
Continuing West from the Embarcadero is Fort Mason. Some days it’s extremely windy and cold but on this day it was calm and mostly warm. I was inside much of the time at an event but got to take a quick walk around the parking area which is right on the water’s edge.
For the third weekend we were out walking along the great highway, just South of Fort Mason. The Great Highway runs straight up the coast on the western edge of San Francisco and eventually connects with the Rt. 101 at the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s technically a stretch of Rt. 1 that runs along the coast in the city. For most of the COVID-19 pandemic a long stretch of it was closed to cars allowing people to freely walk, jog, and bike all week long. We came out here many times from Golden Gate Park to bike along the water. At the end of the summer 2021 they re-opened the road to cars during the week but continue to keep it closed on the weekends for people to enjoy.
