We took a hike down Kings Creek in Mt Lassen State Park. We were there during the last weekend in May and there was still snow all over the place with several roads through the park closed down. I made this picture by jumping over the stream and onto a small island in the middle. Getting onto the island was pretty straight-forward, getting off was nearly a great youtube clip (as it did appear that i’d completely fall in the stream it was being recorded). I made it safely (remaining dry) and we continued out hike.

I did manage to fall though the snow on about 6 different occasions and get stuck up to my hip. It’s kind of difficult to struggle out of the snow with a 40 pound pack on your back.

In the end we didn’t come across any other people along the trail. We at lunch near the bottom of the falls and then made our way back up the trail to the car where i had stashed some beer in the snow near the car.
